Topic: Asset Protection 101
Part one of the program will cover what happens in a lawsuit. We will address pre-litigation issues relating to asset searches, contingency litigation, and privacy. The program will include discussions on pleadings, discovery and trial and what can and cannot be asked in litigation cases. Also, we will discuss what happens after the judge rules and the judgment enforcement collection, fraudulent conveyance and the issues of asset transfers.
Part two of the program discusses the options related to asset protection strategies for both business and individuals. Specifically, what entities are recommended and the tax impact of the selection options. The program will cover both, domestic and international trust options and their filing requirement under the tax code.
